Avoid These Aging Blunders

So, you’re doing all the right things to stay young – avoiding excessive sun exposure, faithfully using your wonderful skin care products, getting enough sleep, doing Dr. Sears’ PACE Express program. .

Those are all wonderful ways to look and feel youthful, but avoiding a few “aging blunders” could shave even a few more years off your look.

  1. Gray roots. Nothing shouts, “I’m getting older,” like a stripe of gray roots. Gray hair can be beautiful, but dark hair with gray roots… well, not so much. With today’s convenient touch-up color products, you can cover those roots in as little as 10 minutes.
  2. Loose clothing. Contrary to popular thinking, wearing clothes that are very loose-fitting does not make a person look slimmer. It actually has the opposite effect. No matter what your shape, fitted outfits make a person look thinner and more “put-together.”
  3. Heavy earrings. Did you know earlobes can show your age? Seriously. A lifetime of wearing very heavy earrings takes its toll on those poor little earlobes, causing sagging and an unsightly slash instead of a little round dot where the earring is supposed to go. Opt for smaller, lightweight styles or, if you must wear a favorite pair of heavy earrings, take them off as soon as possible.
  4. Bare hands. A study that compared photos of hands with nail polish and jewelry to the same hands with no polish and jewelry revealed that the study participants thought the “dressed up” hands appeared younger. For instantly younger hands, try today’s colorful, sassy nail polish shades and add a ring or bracelet.

  5. Discolored teeth. Some medical issues can cause teeth to discolor, but if your teeth are yellowed from age or stained from red wine or coffee you can usually successfully bleach them. Check with your dentist for the best option for your particular situation.

Have a Youthful Day,
