Many of the patients I see here in the Wellness Center want more energy. They long to feel like they did in their 20s when they could go all day long without losing energy.

They also want to know how to get younger looking skin, with a vibrant glow and a smooth, toned face.

I recommend one anti-aging solution for both increasing physical energy and making skin look younger.

You see, CoQ10 does it all.

You probably already know CoQ10 as a heart supplement. It’s a powerful antioxidant. But it’s also the spark all of your cells need to boost energy naturally.

Every cell in your body contains microscopic structures called mitochondria. They’re like little power plants. But those energy generators need CoQ10 to operate. Without CoQ10, you’re missing your spark.

Your body manufactures CoQ10 but here’s the thing: starting around age 40, production slows down. That’s when you begin significantly noticing energy loss.

But restoring your CoQ10 levels will increase your energy, stamina and endurance. It also keeps your heart cells going strong.

And CoQ10 does the same for your skin cells. It provides a natural skin therapy.

CoQ10 Makes Old Skin Cells Act Young Again

When German researchers applied CoQ10 to skin from mature adults something amazing happened. The mitochondria sprang into action again.1 It’s almost like CoQ10 “woke up” the mitochondria.

And once skin cells have their energy source back, they get a new lease on life. They can handle the daily challenges we all face.

You see, sun, pollution, environmental toxins and a poor diet put your face under attack every day. They cause oxidative stress, or free radical damage.

Now, when you were younger, you were producing plenty of CoQ10 to handle all that stress. Your skin bounced right back. But as you get older, it’s not so easy. Without CoQ10 protection, your face can start looking old before its time.

By restoring the youthful energy levels inside your skin cells, CoQ10 helps your face look younger again. Studies show it boosts energy production to keep older cells functioning more like younger cells.2 And younger cells are the key to making skin look younger.

But there’s more to CoQ10. It helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles. In one study dermatologists found that applying CoQ10 for six months led to a notably reduced wrinkles.3 It helps make those wrinkles appear shallow and less noticeable.4 CoQ10 even reduces those “crow’s feet” around the eyes that really tell your age.5

How To Look Younger With CoQ10

You can get CoQ10 from food. Beef, sardines, mackerel, peanuts, and organ meats like liver and kidney are the best sources.

But the amounts in food won’t be enough boost your energy adequately. This is a case where you need to take a supplement. But make sure you get the right kind.

Most CoQ10 supplements contain ubiquinone. Your body has to reduce ubiquinone to ubiquinol in order to use it. But as you get older, your body’s ability to convert ubiquinone to ubiquinol drops off.

If you’re over 40, you need the ubiquinol form of CoQ10. It may cost a little more but it’s far more effective. One study found ubiquinol was almost eight times as effective as ubiquinone.7

I recommend taking 50 to 200 milligrams of ubiquinol per day (divided into two doses). Don’t go overboard. Very large doses (1000 mg or more per day) may cause restlessness and insomnia.

Also for added skin benefits I recommend applying a CoQ10 toner, cream or serum every day to keep skin smoother, healthier and more youthful.
