5 Ways to Look Younger In 5 Minutes

If you’re like most women I know, you probably think taking care of yourself takes a lot of time.

But you may be surprised at how much you can do to reverse the effects of aging in just minutes.

That’s why I put together a list of my top five ways to reduce the appearance of aging. And the best part is that each of these quick solutions takes less than five minutes of your day!

Let’s get started:

  1. CoQ10. It sops up the free radicals that damage skin cells and helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles.1 Because of its powerful antioxidant properties, it’s like a beauty treatment in a capsule. I take the reduced form of CoQ10 – called ubiquinol – because it’s more absorbable than ordinary CoQ10.
  2. Increase large muscle mass. Even when they’re resting, your muscles use energy. And big muscles burn more energy than small muscles. You can train your body to burn more calories – even when you’re asleep – by building up your biggest muscles. And the biggest muscles in your body are in your legs and buttocks. My favorite exercise for building these muscles are lunges. Here’s how to do them:a. From a standing position, take a large step forward with one leg.
    b. Lower yourself toward the ground until your “forward” knee is bent at a 90 degree angle. Your “trailing” knee should be almost touching the floor.
    c. Stand up, bringing your trailing leg forward.Do 10 repetitions with each leg.

Lunges really boost your workout. And they’ll build those big muscles that burn lots of extra calories. Twenty lunges just take a couple of minutes, but they’re a great way to trim down and tone up. If you’re in good shape, you can hold weights in your hands to increase the challenge. If you’re just getting into shape, lower yourself only as far as you’re comfortable with.

  3. Coconut water. Drink coconut water after your workouts. Natural coconut water beats electrolyte replacement drinks hands down. Coconut water contains the perfect balance of five important electrolytes: magnesium, phosphorus, manganese, calcium and sodium. Plus, it has lots of vitamin C, along with B vitamins, several trace minerals, enzymes and amino acids. So it’s ideal for post-exercise recovery. And here’s a bonus… A West Indian study found coconut water can help lower your blood pressure.2 That’s something no electrolyte replacement drink can match. You can buy coconut water at many natural food stores and supermarkets.
  4. Breathe. Proper breathing techniques can be a great way to beat stress and help reverse the signs of aging. One of the best breathing techniques I’ve come across is called “cadence breathing.”Cadence breathing is easy to learn, and takes a little practice to master. Here’s how to do it…Sit comfortably and quietly for a few moments and clear your mind. Pay attention to your breath. If other thoughts intrude, just refocus your attention on your breathing. How long does it take you to inhale and exhale? Notice where the inhale stops and the exhale begins. How does it feel as you make the transition from inhaling to exhaling? Finally, elongate your exhale. Breathe in deeply for a count of four, hold your breath for a count of seven, and then exhale for a count of eight. Push out all your breath slowly during the eight count. Continue like this for a few minutes.
  5. Never go to bed with your makeup on. This simple beauty tip is from my friend, Jackie Silver, of “Aging Backwards” fame. Washing your face doesn’t take more than 2 or 3 minutes, but it can make a huge difference in how youthful you look.Leaving your makeup on means you may spend the entire night with clogged pores. Bacteria and waste can become trapped and cause breakouts or other skin problems. Plus ordinary beauty products often contain petroleum waste or irritating chemicals like ammonia and formaldehyde. So I don’t recommend using them on your skin at all, let alone leaving them on all night.

Try to incorporate these five steps into your routine and before you know it, you’ll be experiencing their amazing anti-aging benefits.

Sincerely,
